Parameters Influencing Lane Flow Distribution on Multilane Freeways in PTV Vissim

In a parameter study, we systematically varied values, and quantified the resulting traffic flow in each individual lane. We modeled two-, three-, four-lane freeway sections with microscopic simulation tool PTV Vissim. compared results findings from literature. Simulations using car following model Wiedemann 99 fit better to empirical studies than those 74. Empirically determinable parameters, that have relevant influence on lane distribution are desired speed distributions (mean for heavy-duty vehicles standard deviation cars), vehicle share, gradient of section. Additionally, driving behavior parameters CC1 (headway time), CC3 (threshold entering following), safety distance reduction factor an influence. As is one most calibrating capacity, remain adjustment.
